Crisis Guide
Spouse Or Child Abuse/ Neglect
Contact the Military Policy if violence or neglect has occurred or if you suspect it may have occurred (IAW AR 608-18 all DoD personnel must report incidents of Family Violence to the MPs). If violence/ abuse/ neglect has not occurred and intervention is needed call Social Work Services (337-5297/ 5942) or the MPs.
Suicide Attempt
Contact the Military Police. Provide basic life support until arrival of MPs.

Family Crisis
Both the Chaplain and Social Work Services can respond to incidents of Family Crisis if needed. Often the leadership of the unit can provide immediate intervention to prevent escalation of the problem. Follow up with either the Chaplain or Social Work Services should be accomplished as quickly as possible. Remember, if violence has occurred or child abuse/ neglect has occurred or is suspected, you must call the Military Police.
Juvenile Problems/ Runaway
If a child has "runaway" contact the Military Police immediately.
Emergency Shelter/ Foster Care
Army Community Services (ACS) will coordinate with Social Work Services and the Military Police in cases where children must be placed in Foster Care. Foster Care placement is usually voluntary unless a German Court makes a directed placement. In cases where a child must be given "Emergency Shelter" from an abuser, the MPs and Social Work Services must be notified. They will contact the ACS Foster Care Worker or Family Advocacy Program Manager to assist with the placement.
Bomb Threat Information:
Be calm, courteous, listen. DO NOT interrupt the caller. Notify supervisor/ security/ MPs while you are on the line (if possible). Note the date and time, try to record the exact words the caller uses.
Ask: When is the bomb going to explode?
Where is the bomb right now?
What kind of bomb is it? What does it look like?
Why did you place the bomb?
Is the caller male, female, adult, juvenile?
Is the voice loud, soft, high-pitched, deep, intoxicated?
Is the accent local, foreign?
Is the speech fast, slow, distinct, stuttering, slurred, nasal?
Is the language excellent, good, fair, poor, foul?
Is the caller's manner calm, angry, rational, irrational, coherent, incoherent, deliberate, emotional, righteous, laughing, intoxicated?
Are there background noises? Office machines, factory, trains, animals, music, voices, airplanes, street traffic, party, mixed sounds?

Offers assessment and treatment for adolescent substance abuse. Provides individual, group and family counseling, prevention education, community and classroom presentations.

Army Emergency Relief can assist with financial need and offers financial readiness classes. Relocation assists with a lending closet and other “moving” information. Mobilization and Deployment provides deployment education, information and support. Employment Readiness provides up to date employment information. The Exceptional Family Member Program coordinates community educational, medical, recreational and personnel services, and facilitates screening/ enrollment in programs for families with special needs. Offers Special Needs Resource Team, Respite Care, and Support Groups.

Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS)
Information on all CYSS Child Care and Child Recreational Programs are available from Central Enrollment Registration (CER), to include: Teen Babysitter Training and Referral, and Instructional classes such as Tae Kwon Do and dance. Family Child Care (FCC) trains, certifies and monitors on post FCC providers. Child Development Centers (CDC) offer development care for children 6 weeks to 5 years, both full time and hourly. School Age Services (SAS) provides quality before and after school care. Youth Services(YS), Middle School and Teens provides recreational activities Sports for children grades 6-12. Youth Sports provides Soccer, Flag Football, Basketball, Softball and Baseball Teams for children ages 4 to 18.

The Army Substance Abuse program offers assessment/ treatment for substance abuse, and individual, group and couples counseling, provides referral services to inpatient substance abuse treatment as well as liaison with other community counseling services. Provides prevention/ education, community awareness on drug and alcohol abuse, Alcoholics Anonymous and drug testing.
