Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
Special Emphasis Program

The United States Army Garrison Wiesbaden Special Emphasis Program is an intricate part of the overall Equal Employment Opportunity Program.  The Special Emphasis Program and activities sponsored by the Special Emphasis Program are sanctioned under the following authorities:

The Department of Army requires installations to establish Special Emphasis Programs to ensure equal opportunity in hiring, training, advancement and treatment of women and minorities.  The United States Army Garrison Wiesbaden Special Emphasis Program includes, monthly employee educational programs, job fairs, the Federal Women's Program, Black Employment Program, Hispanic Employment Program, Individuals with Disabilities Program, Asian/Pacific Islander Employment Program, and American Indian/Alaskan Native Employment Program.  These Special Emphasis Programs have been consolidated at this installation to function under one EEO Special Emphasis Program Committee.

The Special Emphasis Program Manager serves as the technical advisor for the Equal Employment Opportunity Special Emphasis Program Committee.

The Special Emphasis Program Committee is a working group composed of civilian employees.  Committee representatives are designated by the Commander and Directors, and they are placed on appointment orders to attend regularly scheduled monthly meetings. As representatives for their respective organizations, Special Emphasis Program Committee representatives provide employment related and career enhancement information as it affects the civilian personnel assigned to the United States Army Garrison Wiesbaden.

The SEP Committee also assists in planning commemorative programs in support of Department of the Army recognized national events, i.e., Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Asian/Pacific Heritage Month, Women’s Equality Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Native American Heritage Month.

Individuals interested in becoming members of the EEO Special Emphasis Program Committee should contact the SEP Manager, (314) 337-5616, Bldg 1023E, room 116, Wiesbaden Army Airfield.
