Equal Opportunity Program Representatives:
- Understand and articulate Department of Defense (DOD), Army, and local command policies concerning Equal Opportunity.
- Assist the commander in implementing a Consideration of Others Program.
- Recognize and assess indicators of institutional and individual discrimination in organizations.
- Recognize sexual harassment in both overt and subtle forms.
- Recommend appropriate remedies to eliminate and prevent unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment.
- Continuously assess the command climate through formal surveys, interviews and accessibility to the unit.
- Collect, organize, and interpret demographic data concerning all aspects of EO climate assessment.
- Assist the commander in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the EO program.
- Organize or assist with training sessions that pertain to equal opportunity, unlawful discrimination, prevention of sexual harassment, and the Consideration of Others Program.
- Prepare input for the Quarterly Narrative Statistical Review (QNSR), which supports the Army's Military Equal Opportunity Assessment (MEOA).
- Receive and assist in processing individual complaints of unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment and conduct EO inquiries according to the commander's guidance.
- Assist in the planning and conduct of ethnic observances/special commemorations.
Formal Complaints:
- Complainant must file in writing and swear to the accuracy of information provided
- Requires specific actions by chain of command
- Complainant will specify alleged concern, names, dates, witnesses, description of incident, and basis for filing
- DA Form 7279-R must be used to record incident
- Are subject to timelines and documentation of actions taken
