Soldier for Life: Transition Assistance Center

Soldiers must enroll in ACAP at least 12 months (and up to 18 months) before separation. This is per HQDA EXORD 054-12, ISO Army Transition, 29 Dec 11, IMCOM OPORD 12-241, Implementation of New Army Transition Program, 1 Jun 12 and USAREUR TASKORD 13-0080, 21 Nov 12.

Pre-Separation Counseling

  • Required by law (Public Law Title 10 USC, 1142) for all separating soldiers
  • Required NLT 90 days before separation
  • May begin one year prior to ETS or two years prior to retirement
  • Available daily (by appointment only) in the Wiesbaden ACAP Office

Job Assistance Workshop

  • Participants learn about career planning/self-assessment, sources of jobs, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, salary negotiation, and job offer
  • Two-and-a-half-day classroom workshop conducted twice a month (by appointment)
  • Eight-hour automated workshop available daily (by appointment)

  • Soldiers separating from active duty
  • Military members of other Department of Defense components
  • DoD and Department of Army civilians
  • Family members of above personnel
